Mahindra Truck and Bus (MTB) had announced Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan (MSA) scholarship scheme for the girl child of truck drivers in 2014. We received an overwhelming response and have distributed 3408 Scholarships to the daughters of truck drivers.

You being one of the scholarship recipients, we at Mahindra Truck and Bus Division are proud of your achievements!

In order to maintain a connect with the scholarship recipients, an Essay Competition was introduced in the 2015 edition of Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards. We received over 800 outstanding essays. While it was difficult to select the winners as each essay told a heartfelt account of your father, the driver's struggle, three amongst you were selected as winners and felicitated on stage at the 2015 Awards Ceremony by Hon'ble Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari. In 2016, we had launched the Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan Outperformer Award, for the 2408 Scholarship awardees, as a part of Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2016. This was introduced with an aim to understand how you, the driver's girl child, have Outperformed on your personal, academic and/or professional front. Top 10 entries were shortlisted and three winners were selected and presented an Award during the Awards ceremony held at Delhi in February 2017.

As we continue to keep our engagement with each one of you, we have introduced a new short story contest this year called "Come Home Papa" in collaboration with our literary partners, #TellMeYourStory, where we encourage you to write a story related to Road Safety. All your stories will be published online, at www.tellmeyourstory.in and best thirty stories will be published into a book.

What does it feel like if your father doesn't return home on time? What comes to your mind if you are not able to reach him when he's on the road? Do you and your family worry about his safety all the time? You would have experienced severe anxiety many times due to events which your father has faced in his many trips across the country - accidents, road robbery or hijacking, natural calamities like floods, landslides, etc. These are some of the difficulties faced by a truck driver that make his job so much more challenging. You would have heard many stories from him of the very difficult situations he has gone through, and how he has come out of such situations. Your story could bring to life the perils and difficulties which are faced by these brave soldiers on the road, and how this impacts you and others in the family.
